Our Beliefs

Who we are

We are a Christ-centered, non-denominational church in Platte City that creates space for all people to experience the compassionate love of the Father.

Our Mission

As a CHRIST-CENTERED community, our mission is to create space for all people to experience the COMPASSIONATE LOVE OF THE FATHER, and to discover THE CALLING He has for their lives.

Our Beliefs

  • We believe that the Bible, consisting of the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, is the revelation of God to mankind. It is verbally and fully inspired by Him, in its original manuscripts. The Scriptures are without error and therefore the only infallible guide for Christian faith and life. We believe the Bible is the supreme revelation of God's will for all mankind.

    Psalm 19:7-11; 2 Timothy 3:15-17; Romans 15:4; 2 Peter 1:19-21

  • We believe there is one, and only one, true and living God; the sovereign Creator and Sustainer of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three Persons (the Trinity): Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God the Father is an infinite, eternal, wise, all powerful, holy, just, good, loving, and all-knowing Spirit, the Maker and Supreme Ruler of heaven and earth.

    2 Corinthians 13:14; Genesis 1:1, 1:27; Psalm 139:1-6; 1 Corinthians 8:4; Isaiah 46:9; Ephesians 4:5-6; 1 Timothy 1:17

  • We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and truly man. He existed from the beginning with the Father. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, and lived a sinless life. He died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. He arose from the grave on the third day and appeared to over 500 people on the same day. He ascended to heaven at the right hand of the Father, as High Priest and Advocate for His people. He will come again to the earth - personally, visibly, and bodily - to judge the living and the dead, and to complete history and the eternal plan of God. He is the world's only Savior and is the Lord of all.

    Isaiah 7:14; 1 Corinthians 15:3-6; Revelation 22:20

  • The Holy Spirit has come to glorify Christ and to apply the saving work of Christ to our hearts. He convicts us of sin and draws us to the Savior. Indwelling our hearts, He gives new life to us, empowers, and gives us spiritual gifts for service as the Body of Christ. He instructs and guides us into all truth, and seals us for the day of redemption.

    John 14:26, 16:7-14; 1 Corinthians 12:1-11; Revelation 3:22

  • We believe Jesus is the head of the church. The true church is composed of all persons who have put their faith in Jesus. The church (ekklesia) consists of the called out ones. We gather together to learn, fellowship, and to pray to be the hands and feet of Jesus.

    Acts 2:42-47

  • We believe the Lord Jesus Christ commands all believers to proclaim the Gospel throughout the world and to make disciples of all nations. Obedience to the Great Commission requires total commitment to "Him who loved us and gave Himself for us." He calls us to a life of self-denying love and service. We are to know God and make Him known.

    Ephesians 2:10; Acts 1:8; Matthew 28:19-20

  • We believe we were all born into sin and that a person is saved by God's grace alone and not by our own works. This is made possible in trusting in what Christ has done for us through His death and resurrection. The believer who has exercised personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is completely made right before God and receives eternal life. Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:16).

    Ephesians 2:8; 1 Corinthians 15:3; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Romans 10:9; John 1:12, 3:16; 1 Timothy 2:5-6; Titus 3:5

  • We believe there is a great blessing for those that give sacrificially, so we encourage you to give as an offering of worship. We believe it is a matter of the heart. Jesus has said that giving and practicing justice and mercy are equally important. We believe that the biblical reference is 1/10 of your income as an offering of worship.

    Matthew 23:23; Malachi 3:10

  • We believe that the home was the first institution God provided for man; that marriage is a sacred relationship between one man and one woman for life.

    Genesis 2:22-25; Hebrews 13:4; Ephesians 5:33; Mark 10:7-9

  • We believe in water baptism by immersion as Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by John the Baptist. It is an act of obedience to Jesus' command to be baptized and a statement to others that you are a follower of Jesus. The person getting baptized should be of an age to fully understand and make the decision on their own.

    Matthew 3:13-17, 28:19; Acts 2:38; Romans 6:3-4

    Ephesians 2:10; Acts 1:8; Matthew 28:19-20

  • We believe in the Genesis account of creation and that it is to be accepted literally, not figuratively; that man was created directly in God's own image and after His own likeness. All animal and vegetable life was created directly by God.

    Genesis 1; John 1:1-3; Colossians 1:15; Revelation 4:11Ephesians 2:8; 1 Corinthians 15:3; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Romans 10:9; John 1:12, 3:16; 1 Timothy 2:5-6; Titus 3:5

  • We believe that all human life is sacred from fertilization throughout the entire natural human life; that human beings are created in His image and, as such, are to be protected; that the weak, vulnerable, handicapped, preborn and needy deserve our respect and our care.

    Genesis 1:26; Psalm 51:5, 82:3-4; 139:13-16; James 1:27Matthew 23:23; Malachi 3:10

  • We believe Satan is a fallen angel, a liar, thief, and deceiver. We believe that he works to steal, kill, and destroy. Satan is destined for final defeat at the hand of God's Son, and for the judgment of eternal hell, a place prepared for him and his followers.

    1 John 3:8; John 10:10; Revelation 20:10; Isaiah 14:12-15; Ephesians 2:2
